How Edge Lab uses your trading data

Edge Lab is produced by OTIS, the analytics engine built by our hedge-fund partner. Producing your report means your executed trades are analysed by that engine. Here's exactly what that involves.

What we send

Your executed trades. The fills from your FundYourEdge accounts — what you traded, when, at what price, in what size, and how each position was opened and closed.

That's it. Edge Lab is a read of your trading, so trading is what it receives.

What we don't send

Your identity doesn't go with it. Before anything leaves FundYourEdge:

  • Your name and email address are not included. They are never sent.
  • Your trading platform login is replaced with an opaque reference that means nothing outside our systems.
  • Your account numbers are replaced with derived references, so the analysis can tell your accounts apart without knowing which accounts they are.
  • The link between those references and you stays with us. The engine receives trades attached to a reference code; only FundYourEdge can connect that code back to a person.

To be straightforward about what this is and isn't: this is a separation of your identity from your trading, not a claim that the data is untraceable. We continue to treat your trading data as your personal data, and it's handled under our Privacy Policy like everything else you entrust to us.

Who OTIS is

OTIS is our hedge-fund partner's diagnostic engine — the same one they use to monitor and improve their own traders. They work with us under contract, and the data they receive is used for one purpose: producing your Edge Lab report.

It isn't sold, it isn't used to advertise to you, and it isn't shared onward.

When it runs

Nightly, automatically. Once you're past the 20-trade unlock, a fresh read of your trading is produced each night and waiting for you the next day. You don't request it, schedule it, or upload anything.

What we keep

We keep a nightly snapshot of your Edge Lab results — your scores, your grades, your leak and your summary figures — on your account.

That's not incidental; it's the entire reason the History tab exists. The analysis engine only ever holds your current diagnosis. Every trend, every week-by-week comparison, and every "leak you've moved past" exists because we kept a record on your behalf. Without it, Edge Lab could tell you how you trade today but never whether you're improving.

How the comparison stays private

The Against the desk section compares you to other traders without exposing anyone. It only ever shows you your own position in a distribution, never another trader's figures, and it suppresses any comparison with too few traders behind it to be safely aggregated.

The full explanation is in How you compare to the desk.
