Unlocking Edge Lab
Edge Lab reads the trades you actually executed, so it needs a few of them before it can tell you anything worth reading. It opens once you've placed 20 round-turn trades. Until then you'll see a progress screen instead of your report.
Nothing to apply for, nothing to switch on. Keep trading and it opens on its own.
What counts toward the 20
- Round-turn trades — a complete trade, meaning an entry and the exit that closed it. An open position doesn't count until it's closed.
- Every account you hold with us — they're added together, not counted per account.
- Accounts in any state — evaluation, funded, failed, breached or closed. Trades you placed on an account that's since gone away still count toward your total.
As the on-screen note puts it: "Every trade counts — across all your accounts, in any status. Keep trading and your full read opens automatically."
One thing that trips people up: a round-turn trade is not the same as a fill. A single trade can involve several fills — scaling into a position, partial exits, a stop that fills in pieces. Edge Lab counts the completed trade, so your fill count will usually be higher than your trade count.
The progress screen
Before you hit 20, Edge Lab shows you how close you are:
- Trades placed — a meter reading "[placed] of 20", with "N trades to go" underneath.
- A blurred sample report sits behind the meter, marked Sample preview. That's a demonstration of what a finished report looks like — it isn't your data, and the numbers on it aren't yours.
This screen doesn't call the analysis engine at all. Nothing about your trading is analysed until you've earned the read.
When it opens
Automatically. Once your 20th round-turn trade is closed, your first read is produced on the next nightly run — so expect your report the following day rather than the same minute.
That's not a delay for its own sake. Edge Lab works from settled end-of-day trading data, so a read produced the instant you closed a trade would be working from incomplete information.
Other screens you might see
A couple of states aren't about the 20-trade gate at all:
- "Edge Lab is coming soon" — we haven't switched Edge Lab on for your dashboard yet. Your trading still counts toward the unlock in the meantime: "Keep trading, the more history you bring, the sharper your first read."
- "Your diagnosis isn't ready yet" — you're past the gate, but your trading history is still being connected. The full read appears here once it is.
- "Analysis is temporarily unavailable" — we couldn't load your report just then. Refresh in a moment; this is usually brief and nothing is lost.
Where to go next
- What is Edge Lab? — what you get once it opens.
- Your Edge Score and Psychology Score — the first two numbers you'll see.
- Reading your grade card — how to read your first report.
